Homelessness & Affordable Housing

Since 2017, Gulf Coast has supported recommendations and goals for a crisis response system aimed at effectively addressing homelessness. In 2018 we invested in a blueprint to support a public-private plan to mitigate this growing crisis and take those recommendations into action. Today, the "Sarasota Housing Action Plan," a new report produced by the Florida Housing Coalition and commissioned by four area foundations, puts hard numbers to the current and growing shortage. The Action Plan lays out a clear set of strategies and recommended actions to create and preserve more affordable housing in Sarasota.
