Tia Cruz
Staff Accountant
Tia Cruz brings a diverse professional background spanning nonprofit accounting, legal services, small business finance, and operations management. Before joining Gulf Coast Community Foundation, she served as a Staff Accountant at CFSC for two years. Prior to transitioning into the nonprofit sector, Tia gained valuable experience in immigration law, estate planning, and both personal and small business accounting. She also brings more than eight years of experience in restaurant management and operations, where she developed strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
Tia earned her bachelor’s degree in Business from Penn State University with a minor in Marketing. Tia moved to Sarasota in 2019 from Farrell, Pennsylvania where she was raised.
Outside of her professional life, Tia enjoys spending time with her family - her husband, Victor, her daughter, Naomi, and their golden retriever, Butters. She also enjoys fishing, relaxing at the beach or by the pool, cooking, and cheering on her favorite football teams — the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
